Wiki

WIKI
What is Wiki? Wiki is in Ward's original description: The simplest online database that could possibly work.
Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. Wiki supports hyperlinks and has simple text syntax for creating new pages and crosslink between internal pages on the fly. Wiki is unusual among group communication mechanisms in that it allows the organization of contributions to be edited in addition to the content itself. Like many simple concepts, "open editing" has some profound and subtle effects on Wiki usage. Allowing everyday users to create and edit any page in a Web site is exciting in that it encourages democratic use of the Web and promotes content composition by no technical users.(http://wiki.org/wiki.cgi?WhatIsWiki)
Wiki has many website we can try and use it such as Wikipedia and Mambo-wiki. What is Wikipedia? It is a free online encyclopedia. Wikipedia lets anyone pen an article or edit an existing article from the comfort of their own home. The website offers 198 free encyclopedias, each one in a different language. The largest encyclopedia is the English-language version at 400,000 entries, but twenty encyclopedias have more than 10,000 entries.
In my opinion, I know that Wikipedia is a convenient website. But I think it is lack of public perception of credibility, particularly in areas of detail. From robust public credibility is even more widespread use and support by teachers, schools, libraries, and the general public--precisely the people who want to use what they believe to be a credible encyclopedia. To the extent that the project is not reaching, and being supported by, these people, it is not succeeding as well as it might.

Perhaps you might also maintain that, while Wikipedia does not now have a reputation for reliability, it will eventually, once enough studies proving its reliability are done, and once people are more familiar with the concept behind the project. This is hard to argue with; but it is also hard to support, because it involves predicting the future, and the future, when it comes to public opinion, is extremely unpredictable. It would be better to do something to help guarantee a reputation for reliability.
My opinion for Mambo-wiki, the home page makes a table of contents will be better, for instance inducts the original handbook, otherwise very difficultly starts from the blank to classify. The server time was not right, causes to observe "recently to change" the time a little corona. Looked at typeface more small in firefox.
In my conclusion, no matter any good or bad opinion I give about the Wiki, I just hope everybody just heard it as an opinion. Use it from a good way to improve our knowledge.
